The Wizard of Oz Book Coaster

Description:

Sunshine yellow with the original 1900 cover art — Denslow's Cowardly Lion in his spectacles and red bow, the title lettered in red and green above him. A handmade coaster modeled after a little hardback, spine and all.

This is the cover of the very first edition, and that 1900 printing held a quiet trick: the illustrations change color as the story moves. Kansas pages run gray, Munchkin country turns blue, and when Dorothy reaches the Emerald City the pictures go green. Readers could follow the journey by color alone.

Why you'll love it:

• The original 1900 first-edition cover — Denslow's bespectacled lion on sunshine yellow — in full color
• Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like a miniature hardback, printed spine and all
• Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
• Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches

Perfect for: yellow-brick-road optimists, Emerald City dreamers, or anyone whose coffee could use a little courage.
