Mansfield Park Book Coaster

Description:

Trailing golden florals wind over a scarlet cover, framing the title in a gilt banner — in the style of the decorated cloth bindings the Victorians gave their favorite novels. A handmade coaster modeled after a little hardback, spine and all.

Mansfield Park was the quiet one — no famous first line, no Mr. Darcy — but it holds a record its glamorous siblings never matched: it earned Austen more in her lifetime than any of her other novels. She had sold Pride and Prejudice outright for a flat £110; Mansfield Park, published on her own account a year later, paid her roughly three times that, and its first printing sold out in six months.

Why you'll love it:

• A scarlet Victorian-style cover — trailing golden florals and a gilt title banner — in full color
• Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like a miniature hardback, printed spine and all
• Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
• Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches

Perfect for: Austen completists, autumn-colored shelves, or anyone whose favorite Austen is the underrated one.

Details:

• Dimensions: approx. 4.25" × 3.75" × 0.5"

The kind of coaster you leave out on purpose.
