Oliver Twist Book Coaster

Description:

There he is — bowl out, mid-request — facing down the master of the workhouse and his ladle, in bold red and black on pale wood. The most famous ask for seconds in English literature, right on the story's own cover. A handmade coaster modeled after a little hardback, spine and all.

When Oliver Twist first appeared, readers saw no "Charles Dickens" on it at all — the story ran under his pen name, Boz. The name was a family joke he kept: his little brother, nicknamed Moses, pronounced it through a stuffy nose as "Boses," which shrank to Boz — and ended up on the title pages of some of the most famous books of the century.

Why you'll love it:

• The famous workhouse scene — Oliver, bowl in hand — in bold red and black
• Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like a miniature hardback, printed spine and all
• Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
• Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches

Perfect for: Dickens readers, generous soup nights, or anyone who has ever wanted a little more.
