Description:

A Victorian cover in bright green. A winged figure holds up an open book and blows a trumpet, framed by scrolls and leaves, with the title on a banner across the middle and the publisher's name in an arch above. A handmade coaster modeled after a little hardback, spine and all.

There is no monster on this cover, and the one you're picturing isn't in the book either. The flat head, the bolts in the neck, and the stiff walk all came from a Hollywood film made more than a hundred years after Mary Shelley wrote the story. In her book, the creature has long black hair, moves fast, and teaches himself to read and speak. One more surprise: he has no name. Frankenstein is the scientist who made him.

Why you'll love it:

  • A Victorian cover in bright green — the winged figure, the trumpet, and the open book
  • Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like a miniature hardback, printed spine and all
  • Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
  • Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches

Perfect for: October decorators, old-movie fans, or anyone who likes finding out the story is not what they thought.

Details:

  • Material: reclaimed wood, handmade
  • Dimensions: approx. 4.25" × 3.75" × 0.5"
  • Finish: fully sealed, semigloss top coat
  • Backing: felt feet
  • A solid piece — modeled after a book, does not open

The kind of coaster you leave out on purpose.
