Description:

A small ceramic book on a green ribbon, with the pages ridged along the top and a gold ring to hang it from. The cover is green with a yellow brick road winding up it, and four black figures walking the road: the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, Dorothy and the Lion. A witch crosses the stars on her broomstick, a hot-air balloon drifts above the title, and the spine carries the title and the Emerald City in a yellow arch.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is the story of Dorothy, a girl carried by a cyclone from Kansas to the land of Oz, who follows the yellow brick road to ask a wizard the way home. The balloon on this cover is how the Wizard got there himself. In the book he is a circus balloonist from Omaha whose ropes twisted one day so he could not come down; he floated for a day and a night, landed in a strange country, and because the people saw him come from the clouds, they took him for a great wizard. He let them.

Why you'll love it:

  • A book for the tree, light enough for a branch and small enough for a wreath or a garland
  • The whole road on one cover: all four travelers, the witch, the balloon and the city
  • Green and yellow, so it sits well among red and gold without copying them
  • Ready to hang, with a green ribbon loop

Perfect for: a reader's tree, a stocking, a teacher, or anyone who grew up following that road.

Details:

  • Material: Ceramic, with a green ribbon loop and gold hanging ring
  • Printed on the front, back and spine
  • Keep the ornament away from children and pets; it is ceramic and will break if dropped

Hang it where the light catches the road, and let someone small ask where it goes.
