Description:
Four Austen novels, each in its own dress — Pride and Prejudice feathered in peacock blue, Sense and Sensibility wrapped in Art Nouveau blossoms on green, Persuasion carrying a bouquet of wildflowers on golden yellow, and Emma in violet and gold scrollwork. Four handmade coasters modeled after little hardbacks, spines and all.
Here is a quiet piece of publishing history: Austen's novels have been in print continuously since 1833 — but not since the beginning. For some fourteen years after her death they slipped out of print entirely, until a London publisher bought the rights and gathered all six into one series. They have not left the shelves in the nearly two hundred years since.
Why you'll love it:
Four distinct cover designs — peacock blue, garden green, wildflower gold, and damask purple — in full color
Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like miniature hardbacks, printed spines and all
Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches
Perfect for: Austen households, book-club tables, or anyone who could never pick a favorite.
