Description:
A ceramic mug featuring artwork inspired by L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz — emerald green with detailed illustrations of the story's characters and the yellow brick road. Large handle, sturdy build, 14 oz.
Baum wrote The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900, but the story behind it is almost as strange as the story itself. He claimed the name "Oz" came from glancing at a filing cabinet — the drawer labelled "O-Z." Whether that's true or not, the book was rejected by several publishers before being picked up. Baum and his illustrator W. W. Denslow funded much of the first printing themselves. It sold out in two weeks.
Why you'll love it:
- Emerald green Wizard of Oz artwork with characters and yellow brick road imagery
- 14 oz — generous size for coffee, tea, or cocoa
- Sturdy ceramic with a comfortable large handle
- A mug you choose specifically, not one you grab from the back of the cabinet
Perfect for: Oz fans, book lovers, or anyone who thinks a good mug is worth having.
