Persuasion Book Coaster

Description:

Buttercups above, daisies below, drawn like plates from a Regency botanical and set on marigold yellow, with the title in a thin-ruled box. A handmade coaster modeled after a little hardback, spine and all.

Austen finished Persuasion in 1816, read the ending back — and tore it up. The quiet reconciliation she had written didn't satisfy her, so she replaced it with the scene readers now cherish: a letter composed in secret while the heroine talks across the room. The discarded chapters survive in her own handwriting — the only manuscript pages of a finished Austen novel that still exist.

Why you'll love it:

• A botanical cover — buttercups and daisies in vintage plate style on marigold yellow — in full color
• Handmade from reclaimed wood and shaped like a miniature hardback, printed spine and all
• Fully sealed with a semigloss high-performance top coat — condensation and spills wipe clean
• Felt feet on the back keep your table free of scratches

Perfect for: readers of second chances, autumn tea afternoons, or the friend whose favorite Austen is the quiet last one.

Details:

• Material: reclaimed wood, handmade
• Dimensions: approx. 4.25" × 3.75" × 0.5"
• Finish: fully sealed, semigloss top coat
• Backing: felt feet
• A solid piece — modeled after a book, does not open

The kind of coaster you leave out on purpose.
