Oliver Lemon Twist Loose Leaf Tea

Three or more tins ship at set pricing — $20 each.

Description:

Oliver Lemon Twist — an all-organic blend of green tea with ginger root, lemongrass, and lemon myrtle, named for the twist of lemon that runs through it. Inspired by Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist, it comes in an illustrated cylinder tin made to be kept, with a bookmark included.

Oliver's famous surname means nothing at all — and that's the joke. In the novel, babies left at the workhouse with no family have their names invented by Mr. Bumble, the parish official, who simply works through the alphabet. The infant before Oliver was named Swubble, so Oliver's letter was T — Twist. The next two, Bumble explains, were already planned: Unwin, then Vilkins. The most storied name in Victorian fiction was just the next letter on a list.

Why you'll love it:

• Organic green tea, ginger, lemongrass, and lemon myrtle — bright, citrusy, gently warming
• A tin made to be kept — illustrated, sturdy, at home on the tea shelf
• Two bookmarks included — Oliver with a quote, Dickens with the brewing instructions
• Moderate caffeine, about 22 cups per tin — made for afternoon reading

Perfect for: Readers with a taste for the classics, Victorian tea hours, Dickens fans, or a literary gift that gets used.
