A nineteen-year-old Kate Bush spent four weeks at number one in Britain with a song of the same name, sung in Cathy's voice at Heathcliff's window, and it was the first UK number one ever written entirely by the woman who sang it. She and Emily Brontë even share a birthday: July 30.
