Description:

A gold-tone pendant necklace shaped like a small Victorian birdcage, inspired by Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre — filigreed bars, a domed top, and inside, a tiny bird in blue enamel. On a delicate chain with an extender.

The bird is Rochester's image, not Jane's. In the scene where he finally proposes, he tells her he sees her as a caged bird — "a wild, frantic bird" beating against its bars — and Jane refuses the picture outright: "I am no bird; and no net ensnares me: I am a free human being with an independent will." The novel's most famous line is a woman correcting a man's metaphor. This pendant keeps both halves of the exchange: the cage he saw, and the bird who never agreed to be one.

Why you'll love it:

  • Gold-tone birdcage pendant with filigree bars, a domed top, and a hand-painted blue enamel bird inside
  • Delicate chain with a 5 cm extender for adjustable length
  • A quiet literary piece — subtle enough for everyday, distinctive up close

Perfect for: Brontë readers, lovers of gothic romance, or anyone who keeps an independent will of their own.
